The Roaming Clone

CHARTER

Welcome to the 327th Star Corps.

We are a group of individuals who have a love of the Star Wars Legacy, While we are not a costuming group, we are a group of fans, some of whome do costume. Please read our charter below for further information on who and what we are.

Mission Statement

The 327th Star Corps is a Star Wars fan clubthat provides community service, both charitable and sociable, while perpetuating the creative inspiration of the Star Wars Universe, in a fun, creatively inspiring atmosphere and family-focused, supportive environment.

Who

We are the 327th Star Corps, a group of fans, costumers, prop-builders, artists, writers, creative people, drawn together under a common appreciation for the Star Wars Universe.

What

The 327th Star Corps is based on the Corps under the command of Commander Bly and Jedi Aayla Secura. We identify with Commander Bly's greater creativity and individuality, while he remained loyal to the Republic, and the cooperative union of both Bly's Imperial nature and Secura's Rebel ties. We feel that, while loyal to our other costuming clubs, we also wanted to lead a group of like-minded creative individuals within our costuming realm, scouting out new and intriguing parts of the canon and expanded Star Wars Universe, in cooperation and harmony with our rebel counterparts.

Where

The 327th Star Corps has no boundaries, and keeps its headquarters at the all-accessible internet, Our Website is located at http://www.327thstarcorps.com which was founded on January 20, 2006. We are currently focusing on expanding into regional garrisons.

How

To become a member of our group, please post a request for membership on our forums or email one of

the officers.

Basic Requirements for membership:

1. 18 years of age or older.

2. Access to the internet.

3. Active email account.

4. Interest in Star Wars and Star Wars costuming.

Membership Status

To maintain your membership status we require that you be active in the group, either in posts, or at events. Members who are absent for more than three months without contact, and do not answer a roll-call will be asked to reapply. Once activating your account, we ask that you make yourself known to the forum, boards, and group in general within 72 hours.

Roll-Call is a process where the C.O. or X.O. sends out emails asking for a response of commitment within a certain time frame.

Costuming Guidelines

Costumes must be of high quality.

Store-purchased costumes are not permitted without modifications.

Costumes must be in good taste, and not be sexually suggestive, provocative, or showing unnecessary flesh. Exceptions to this would be the Slave Leia costume, and some Twi'Lek costumes. If it is an actual image from the universe, that is okay.

Costumes must be functionally wearable. If it is too binding or uncomfortable to wear for more than 5 minutes, it is not a functional costume, but a decoration.

Each costume must have reasonable accommodation for safety, and cannot completely diminish sight or constrict breathing.

Custom Costumes

Custom Costumes must have a basis in the Star Wars universe, movies, videos, comics, books, expanded universe, etc. For example, you can have a Mandalorian costume, which has a basis in the SW Universe, but have it be your own character, with its own color scheme, etc. On the flip-side, you could not create a new species not already introduced into the SW universe in one genre or another.
While we encourage creativity, we request that Expanded Role Playing characters not include characters that change the course of the actual Star Wars Universe time line, or lineage.

On a final note, our costumes are designed to be worn in a public arena and not only represent our costuming club, but Lucas Film's Star Wars Universe, therefore, they must be tasteful, presentable, and as true to the original concept as possible.

Community Guidelines

First and foremost we would like you to be an active part of the community. Please post frequently and try to attend some of our events. The more we do together, the more fun we can have!

Respect for the individual is the most important community guideline we have. We take our friends seriously. Gossip is strongly discouraged. The officers and members will practice an open door policy. If you have a concern or a question, just ask the person.

Privacy

For whatever reason, some people may prefer to remain private with certain things, like real names, locations, or other things. Please respect these wishes. Officers may request that information for private records, but privacy will be respected. If you do not want to have that information known, please let one of the officers know immediately, in writing (email). If a member prefers to go by their screen name or other name, please respect that wish. If you know members outside of the community, please make sure that they wish to have their membership known in public circles before approaching them or making their membership known to all.

Gathering

We request that if a gathering is formed that provisions for an overnight stay be provided if the situation warrants it. Celebrating and having fun is a big part of what we are about; however, we ask that it be done responsibly.

Forum Guidelines

We request that you be respectful to our other members. Please take disagreements to emails and out of the public viewing areas. If you have a problem that cannot be resolved, please contact a member of command for assistance.

Please refrain from posting sexually explicate images, content of a discriminatory or illegal nature. If you aren't sure, err on the side of caution and don't post it.

We request you take part in the forum as we don't wish to have inaccurate member numbers.

We also do not tolerate “lurking”. If loged onto the boards and don't take part, we will view that as inactivity and will assume that you are a “bot” or some other program running and slowing down our boards.

Events and Guidelines

Since we are representing images of someone else's design, we must remember that we represent them and ourselves. Also, remember that minors may be present at events, and we should maintain a high level of integrity.

Disciplinary Actions

While we hope it would never come to something like this, in the interest of community standards, the following disciplinary standards are posted to insure fair application to all members.

A member breaking the club's code of conduct or behaving in an unacceptable manner or violating the tenets of this charter may face disciplinary action. Any member in good standing may bring a charge against another member. The charge is brought to the attention of the officers, who must then call a hearing. During the hearing both sides of the conflict are related and witnesses and evidence submitted and recorded. Once the hearing is closed the officers render judgment and outline the requirements for both parties to follow. If the officers and people involved cannot come to an agreeable compromise, the officers will take a vote.

Minor offenses will mainly involve an agreed upon course of action, and possibly suspension from board and event activities from one week to one month.

Serious offenses can result in suspension or expulsion depending on the nature of the offense. Any offenses that would be considered crimes in most states will result in expulsion. Serious offenses that have been witnessed by other members such as verbal threats, stalking, abuse, drug abuse, molestation, assault, etc. when done from one member to another, and where our club is a common link, even if it does not occur at a club event will be treated as a serious offense.

Any club member suffering from the above mentioned is required to file a complaint with the local police department as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in the removal of that member for the club's safety. These are situations that the law needs to be involved in.

The 327th Star Corps practices an open door policy. Any member may come to an officer with a concern and it will be addressed. It is very important to take concerns to an officer rather than to other members. Unsubstantiated claims made by one member to other members rather than an officer can result in the accuser being suspended or removed from the club.

In the unfortunate event of severe disciplinary action being taken, the act of a TRIBUNAL will take place. In this arena, the accused will be allowed to speak freely and openly about the charges brought against him/her. The evidence will be weighed and decided upon with the officers.

In the event one or more of the officers are bringing charges against any member, those officers are not allowed to vote in the outcome/future of the member in question.

The tribunal shall be set up with the C.O. and X.O. overseeing the tribunal. The Commander of the Guard (C.O.G.) will act as the mediator throughout the tribunal.

All Officers and Representatives, Counselors, and Dignitaries will take part in the tribunal. It will be held in an official and closed chat room and all information will be kept private with the exception of the above mentioned and accused.
